We offer dry eye treatment through the E-SWIN E-Eye IRPL and other methods. Intense Pulse Light with the patented regulated flash technology provides long-lasting benefits with proven safe and effective results.
The IRPL was the first registered and certified device for treating Dry Eye Disease and Meibomian Gland Dysfunction in 50 countries outside of the U.S. and is an FDA-cleared medical device. IPL therapy helps restore and improve ocular surface health for optimal vision.
If you’ve been experiencing the symptoms of dry eye, a thorough assessment can help determine if you are a candidate for any of these treatment options.
E-SWIN E-Eye IRPL
Intense Pulse Light Therapy, or IPL, is a technique where light therapy is applied followed by Meibomian Gland expression. We use the E-Eye IRPL (Intense Regulated Pulse Light) to treat dry eye caused by Meibomian Gland Dysfunction by using specific sequences of light pulses that stimulate the gland.
The process of the treatment is quick and the results of the first couple of treatments can last up to 2-3 months. Independent international studies found that 83% of patients experienced symptom relief after IRPL treatment.
BlephEx
BlephEx is a device used to treat blepharitis, a common condition where an overgrowth of bacteria at the base of the lashes can cause itching, crusting and flaking. BlephEx uses a micro sponge to exfoliate along the lashes removing bacteria.
The procedure takes 6-8 minutes and should be done every 4-6 months.
HEAT AND MEIBOMIAN GLAND EXPRESSION
Heat therapy followed by meibomian gland expression helps stimulate oil production in the gland and improve flow. This treatment is often done in conjunction with IPL treatment.
Amniotic Membrane
In some cases we treat the surface of the eye with a special contact lens with anti-inflammatory and anti-scarring properties. Wearing this lens for 48 hours promotes corneal healing.
Punctal Plugs
Punctal plugs are tiny pieces of collagen or silicone used to block the tear ducts. They are placed in the puncta, the opening in the lids where tears drain. We use these plugs when we want to slow the draining of natural tears.
